Just want to say this forum and its members are great! Have an 08 Ultra that I was thinking about putting The Klock Werks Bagger Windshield on. Does anyone have any input on these. Dont want to spend the cash if its not going to be any different than the stock windshield. Thanks in advance!
I test rode one on my Street Glide - wasn't tall enough for me. The wind hit me right between my glasses and helmet. However, I did see a post that they just made a 10" for Batwings - may be worth trying. If you're in FL, Miller's in South Daytona usually can let you try before you buy.
Klock works is now producing a 10 1/2" screen that is supposed to be very good. Problem is you can't use any windshield bag with it. It's shown on their website now. I'm looking at the recurved Wind Vest currently, and it too has some good reports, but costs less. Cee Baileys is supposed to be very good as well. Lot's of options for windshields.
I love this wind shield, and Im 6 ft. You will still have air hitting you not real bad though and that anoying buffeting of the factory is gone. I love it.
I have a 12 inch SSC which I really liked at first. My favorite is the 9.5 Clearview with recurve. This past weekend I put the SSC back on just to try it out. I got significantly more helmet buffeting than the Clearview. I am going to stick with Clearview. I would try 10 inch Klockwerks Flare if I saw some good reviews.
Bought a 8" Fastaire for winter and it worked great but wanted something a little "sportier" for summer. Tried the 6.5 Klock and am very pleased. The 8" Fastaire and the 6.5 KW feel very similar for me. I'm 5'10 and have my bike lowered an extra inch.
Currently running the 6.5" and love it. Had a Clearview, and personally experienced buffeting. At 5'9", the KW is good for me. Customers are starting to put some miles on the 10.5", and initial reviews are excellent wind protection, good downforce resulting in front-end stabilty, and attractive. One customer says looking through the curves of the shield will take some getting used to.
