Sorry you're having issues! Seems like ya did for sure get a lemon!

But...I have 7000 miles on mine so far...no issues (knock on wood)!

I'll give you $1,500 for it so you can go get a Honda.

Hate to hear to are having all these problems. As you have seen, this appears to be a relatively isolated case. Yes all machines regardless of make will have what I refer to as a Friday PM or a Monday AM build. Somewhere down the line, attention to detail was missed or a faulty part was manufactured by others and installed at the factory.
Speak with the OWNER of the dealership and express your concerns. Make him aware that this is costing you time AND money. Document all of the issues inclusive of time, travel etc. You will need this if in fact it is replaced/refunded under the Lemon Law.
Talk to other dealers and get their opinions even if by e-mail or phone.
Even the Lemon Law applies a depreciation factor that is just as costly as the time ane $$'s you have invested thus far. Dont ask how I know???
Once all is right, you will be very happy!

but for God's sakes....dont go metric

My last three new Harleys 91 XL, 98 FXD, 2008 FLHT had milage of 75,000-91,000-25,700 respectivly, with the exception of wreck repairs none have ever been in the shop. I have no complaints.

I got 17,000 on my 08 EGC. First year no issues but wear and tear. Just starting this second year and small primary leak that the dealer fixed and it leaking again...and they will fix it again. Not a big issues but for 20k I'd like it not to leak yet!! Traded from a metric (C50) to this and would not ever go back.

Agreed, I have an 05 also and never had any problems! The thing runs strong, uses no oil, and get 43 MPG. I love my ride!

It's a pity that some responses are instantly "go back to Honda", but we do feel immense loyalty to this brand. I honestly feel that your misfortunes with your ride are the exception rather than the rule. Personally, I have had 6 Harleys and I can truthfully say that they have been trouble free. Now I don't know the dealership that you use or whether they are a good one, but my experience has been that the dealerships are a lot more hit or miss than the products they sell. I hope your problems are coming to an end and that you can enjoy many years of trouble free riding. AS a previous poster mentioned, there can be lemons from any manufacturer and I hope you did not get one. That said, if you continue to have issues, I would talk to HD directly.
