I concur with most of the opinons here -- they made a significant difference in the buffeting at 60-75 mph. I also have a Jack Flaps vest. Before I put the deflectors on, the boards on the vest would extend. After the deflectors, they don't move -- there is a large dead air zone. When I take the shorty wind screen off, I'll take them off, as well. I've even gotten used to the look.
Could you please explain what you mean by buffeting ???

At speeds above 50 or so, the wind coming from around the front of your tank makes your head shake.

The air baffle mounts under the triple tree to redirect air between the forks across the motor instead of coming up into your face. They used to come standard on all touring bikes, now it's an add on only. They run between 20 & 25 dollars

Help me out! So installing the wind deflector in Summer months will make it hotter on the rider?

Buffeting, by my definition, is caused by the wind that comes up from under the windscreen, and vibrates my helmet & sunglasses at higher speeds on the superslab. One good test -- fold your left arm across your chest; if you feel a drop-off in the wind turbulence, lowers should help. It's not an issue when riding without a screen.

I put them on my bike, and I love them. Sometimes I get a bug landing on my tank and hanging out for a while...on the highway...at 70mph. Yes they work - too good sometimes. create a lot of heat in the warm weather. Just open your legs more and catch some of the wind outside the deflectors with your shins and refrshes the dead air in front of you.

I put mine on in the winter with a bat wing. I took it all off when the weather warmed up. After about two days riding without the deflectors I put them back on. They make alot of difference to me. 4 Acorn nuts and they are on/off. To easy!

Another rider mentioned that as above, "you can smoke a cigarette while doing 70", but I'm no smoker! However, the air movement behind the fahring was a cold experience I could do without on winter morning (as low as 30-degrees F @ 5:30 am) rides. As an added benefit, I discovered that my chaps didn't get a cold shot of air up my legs anymore (highway pegs mounted within the crashbar for lane-splitting ease).

I was kinda wondering if they stop the cold air from blowing through the blue jeans on them crisp mornings?
