Default Help with a Weird Problem

I ride an 03 Ultra and the speedo started acting up intermittently. Dropping off and not registering the speed with the backlight out and the odometer not being displayed. The weird part was the radio volume would also go down at the same time. I found a broken wire and repaired that and all looked good for a short ride after the repair. This afternoon I went for a ride and didn't even get out of the drive way and got different symptoms. Now it will not show speed but the backlight is lit and the odometer is displayed. I tried to use the diagnostic but it fails the first part as the speedo will not go full deflection but it does not throw any codes. I am at a loss any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Take out your speed sensor and clean the shavings off of it and reinstall. If that doesn't work you may want to replace the speed sensor.

+1 My speedo jumped around, worked and then didn't, and finally quit, my blikers stopped working too. I tried cleaning the sensor, which was covered in metal shavings, but it didn't help. Bought a new sensor (about $50) and no more problems.
