I have been riding for several years, about 40, and have been skinned up, scared beyond belief, trashed some bikes and I still ride. None of the crashes I had were caused by the bike. Either myself or a riding mate were responsible for the events that led up to the crash, such as going into a corner too hot and either highsiding or the dreaded wobble.
We all accept the risk that is associated with the activity we are doing. That starts when we wake up and ends when we go to sleep at noght. If you don't want to ge hurt, scared or wreck stuff, Set in a rocker and wait for your demise. Not Me!!!
its like anything that is made in the auto industry....just because the Moco improved on something does not mean what was improved was broke to begin with....its just an improvement. everything made makes a transition eventually, its called evolution to improve. how many touring model bikes were made using the same frame? If there was something that bad or wrong with all those touring bikes built with that particular frame the Moco would prolly been sued out of business long ago. I've had harleys for the past 15+ years and never experienced the "wobble" and hope I don't! But seems a few people complaining about it are prolly riding the bike to its limits....if you want to race a bike, an FLT would not be my first choice. you don't see nascar racing RV's do ya? I think its great that the Moco made improvements and hope they continue to do so. some people don't like change (just mention water cooling on here....lol) and some complain there isn't enough change. Just my .02
There are a lot of things that can be done by home mechanics,But most do not dare to and would not know what they are looking for or have the tools to fix anything. For those that know what the problems are, the fixes are quite simple. These baggers can be built to be an absolute joy to ride at any speed and under any conditions.
So you went from three oscillations to four plus. Big deal. Started within specs and finished within specs. The only thing you fixed was the cash register where you bought your miracle screwdriver.
If some of us have identified a problem, educated ourselves, and found a product that takes care of the problem, it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. One day one of you might get rear steer and go down like the guy with the broken hip. I hope no one makes comments to you like some of you have to him. Find something else to hate.

Beemervet: For some on this thread who wish to make the comments they have I can only say I don't have a dog in this hunt, I have nothing to gain weather they want to listen or not. They know not of how I ride or my experiance level. Knowledge is being aware of a potential problem, wisdom is the ability to act upon it. Most of us who are informed know that I am not the only person who has experianced this. I hope if someday they do encounter this condition, that they are lucky and get that second chance........
