Flying GPS
While riding the highway at 70 MPH my Garmin Quest came out of the bracket and hit the road. I pulled a U and went back and picked it up. Put it back on and it still works fine. Its a bit more ugly now but has some character. Didn't think the thing was so tough.

Don't know about the quest, but with the zumo I can use a nifty little thumb screw to secure it. The unit comes with a tiny screw and screwdriver, but there is a chap on the garmin forums that sells the little thumb screw doo-hickey which I bought.

I have always been worried about mine also taking a solo flight on me, my neighbor lost his digital camera a few weeks ago, he hit some good bumps and it flew out of his wind sheild pocket, he never turned around, he said he noticed multiple pieces fragmenting from it and called it a casualty.

That's funny! a couple of years ago, my nav flew off my street glide handlebar on a major highway at about 60 mph. There was a young man close behind me in his cage and he ran it over. At the next stop light, he put his window down (stopped in lane next to me) and said, " I think I ran over your cell phone, sorry". I laughed and told him it was my gps. He apologized a 2nd time. I laughed because it wasn't his fault but he felt bad. I didn't go back for it either...
