I used the search feature here before I posted about this topic. Well, it almost works too well. Just purchased a Garmin Zumo 590 and wanted to see if there was any discussion on it. Only a couple of postings I found had a very minor amount of discussion, for the rest of the results, my search term was in a member's signature, so that wasn't what I was looking for.
For those that have the Garmin Zumo 590, what do you like about it and what don't you like about it, and did you have another motorcycle GPS before this one? I did, my Garmin Zumo 450 just bit the dust after 6 years of faithful service.
Please, I don't need to hear about the price (yes it costs too much, but I did get 20% off of my purchase), or how you are using something else better, unless you have previously used the Garmin Zumo 590 and think there is a better option out there. Thanks.
I have the 390 and really like it. It's similar to the 590 which has a few added features. I had 2620 that was great but it died and they don't repair those anymore. I replaced it with a 2555LTM (I think that's right) but it didn't accept routes so it drew lines from point to point. I liked being able to find way out there roads and transfer the exact route to the gps. Now I can plot out exact roads on google, Harley Ride Planner and I thing mapquest and transfer turn by turn on my chosen roads easily.
Dang, having now read all the features of the 590 I kinda wish I had held off on buying the 390...oh well, it's like computers...once you make the purchase STOP LOOKING!

You are right about that! I was originally going for the 660 for the price, but after reading about the features of the 590, I am glad I did it. I was after the MP3 player, or I might have settled for the 390.

If the Zumo 590 is anything like the Zumo 550, its a good one. But never heard of the 590 before now. Good luck.
The 450 was almost like the 550 except it didn't have XM radio. I bought it at a great price. Now that I am hooked, I feel like I can't go on a trip without it. Really convenient!
Just bought one myself, installing it tonight. Had a 550 that I liked but the screen kept messing up so I bought the 590lm, paid full price plus purchased the tire sensors. I will be going on my summer ride in a week or two so will post my thoughts on it when I get back sometime in August. You should post on how you got the 20% off so others thinking about purchasing one can get a deal, two weeks ago they were on back order at most places.

Good idea. I ordered this unit directly from Garmin. Garmin tech support offered the 20% off when they said my Zumo 450 was too old to replace with a refurb. They didn't ask for the old unit in return either. Figured I'd better jump on it before they changed their mind! I thought about the tire pressure add-on, but I already spent enough money for now. Might go for those later.

Just reread your post, so your trip is all summer long? Man, I am jealous!
The wife and I work nuclear outages together, she is my work partner so we are together on the road 24/7 3 months at a time, work is seasonal summers off, she likes to stay home I like to ride so I go on summer trips usually average about 6 to 8 weeks.
Life is good.
