I am looking at the HD adjustable rider backrest's for my '09 EGC. This is the one that raises up and down as well as tilts forward and back with the gas shock. I am fairly happy with the stock seat after going on 4-500 mile day rides here in Colorado. My a*& doesn't hurt, just my back. I am thinking some back support would help. Does anyone own one, and what do you think? Like it, not, etc. Thanks for any info.
Please let me know how you like it. It is pretty pricey at $260 for the backrest, and $50 for the mounting kit. But if it is comfortable and relieves some of my chronic back pain it would be well worth it.

I have one on my RG. It does tend to push you forward in the seat. I got used to it and I like it now. I can reach down and adjust it back when I put my feet up on the highway pegs. Check out the complaints from the guys who think it's too thick and pushes you forward.

I have one on my Ultra. I won't do a long trip without it. The fore and aft adjustment is nice and you can put it just where you want it. The up and down adjustment is limited to only two or three positions dictated by detents in the back pad post. I think it's pretty expensive for what it is but one of the few things that have been a good purchase for me.
i put one on with the intentions of only using it on trips. i took a ride to try it out and make sure everything was ok. i havent taken it off yet. makes a huge difference. and it fits in the bag when i get somewhere. i dont like the look of the bike with it on, but the support is worth the trade off.
I highly recommend the adjustable backrest. Don't go cheap and get the one that is non-adjustable. I installed one on my '08 SG last month. Trust me, you will really like it.
Install it yourself. For HD directions, they are pretty good. Remember you will need to buy the adjustable backrest and the installation kit. They are separate part numbers.
Have had one on all my bikes as I ride long distance as a rule. My 09 adjustable backrest is not as good others have been but the backrest is something I will not ride without it...
