I installed the Monster Ovals. Here's my .02 cents:
Install was simple.
As soon as I started the bike, there was an VERY obvious difference in the "type" of sound from the Monsters.
The monsters have a very muffled. low rumble to them. Almost where I would consider keeping the stock mufflers, if money was an issue. They are much LOWER compared to the V&H Ovals.
My Ovals were piercing, and cracked at high revs. (This is a good thing if this is what you want ).
My neighbor described the sound of the monsters as "soothing". I'm not too sure I want to feel "soothed" when I ride, but it will be better for he neighbors.

I have a half day at work today, and with temps in the 70's, I'll have a chance to spend a few hours breaking them in. :-)
Note:
On my first ride, I noticed that I was getting a decel pop. Knowing my bike, it pretty much tells me that I needed to add some fuel at certain throttle positions. After a few revs, I saw that the pops were at closed throttle, while revving down from about 3k rpm. I added a little fuel with the PCII, and the popping was gone.
I didn't think the mufflers made much of a different with fuel management, but apparently, they do.
Here a pic to give you an idea how wide they are:

Is there any way to test for leaks, even though I can't see any?
