Had Rinehart's (true duels) installed in 07' when I bought my Ultra. They seem to have lost the "throaty" sound. Found 3 of the 1/2" nuts were not tight, re-tightened a little better.
Dumbest question ever on this forum (sorry)...The rear exhaust upper nut..how or what can I use to tighten this. Tried stubby's, adjusting the heat shield everything cannot get any type of tool I own on this???
Any other ideas on why the pop is gone...couldn't be my hearing? Rode with a guy who has the same set-up, big difference...HELP!
If you are talking about the upper nut on the rear cylinder exhaust header, a 1/4" ratchet wobbly socket extension works great. You can generate more than the required torque with this set up.
I called at my S&S dealer only yesterday with this problem! It is the rear lower I have problems with. Sneaky mechanic showed with a 'crow's foot'. I had never seen these things before, but must get one soon.
Something like what you are talking about here. I just put true duels on my 06 Ultra. What a dissapointment in sound. I had them on my 04 Road king and they were very nice sounding, very deep with out the crack. I don't have any leaks and have put the quite baffles in...still not very much better. I am wondering if it is the difference in years or something else.
