Default 95 Big Bore Question

Rode my '05 Ultra home from the dealer this afternoon after some minor surgery.
SE3 fluid changes, Detachable tour pack, true dual Rhineharts, 95 big bore kit, Stage II, and a couple pieces of necessary chrome. They advised me to keep the rpm under 3000 for 500 miles which meant my 75 mile ride home took forever at 62 mph. My neighbor had the same upgrades done a couple of years ago and was told "break it in like you're going to ride it". He did... and has had no problems.

I want to feel this 95 w/true duals but not at the expense of losing my patience.

Question: Wait 500 miles or break it in like I'm going to ride it?

GREAT read 05 Ultra. Thank You!
You'll notice my user screen name... I understand seal wear and break in. This article makes sense. The article also suggests NO SYNTHETIC OIL and an oil change after 20 miles. My surgery included my annual synthetic (SE3) fluid changes. This bike has run synthetics since birth. My ride home was 75 miles at 2500 rpms (62 mph). Tomorrow, I'll go out and run it through all the gears HARD (accelration and deceleration) on our local country roads. Now I wonder if maybe an oil change is in order tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks... appreciate the link. May be an overdone thread... but my first read. Very cool. Thanks for taking the time to find the link and add your reply.
