Default Pcv help

I have an 07 ultra with ness big sucker and rush exhaust with fuel moto baffles 1.75 on the left and 2.25 on the right.
My problem is: I just replaced my PCIII with a PCV because i want auto tune when i can aford one, anyway the bike ran fine with the PCIII but now i get bad backfires using the PCV, Jamie at fuel moto had me try puting negative values in the zero colume of the map, Ive tryed doing that and no luck, still backfires, at present the values are -50.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks Mark

I had issues with popping during downshift and even some upshifting. I inputted values of 5 into the 0 (zero) column, which richens up the zero throttle position. I placed the values from 1500 to 2750 rpm's. I originally contacted Power Commander and this was their recommendation. My final value to alleviate the pop was a value of 7, Hope this may help you.

When I had a similar problem with my 08. After checking for leaks, I put +15 in the zero column from just above idle to about 3K or so. That stopped the decel pop, the plugs look good and the bike runs great.

I've never understood the decel-pop issue. I've never had it and now have all negative values, mostly -10's, in my 0% column. I can put anything at 0% and still no popping. What I do that might be a factor is seal my muffler/pipe joint with anti-sieze compound. This problem can be caused by air leaks in the exhaust system so maybe that's an approach you guys with decel-popping might try. Also, make sure your TP is set properly. In the main software window it should show 0% when no throttle is being applied.

iclick - My 07 using the PCIII never popped on decel. My 08 using the PCV had a decel pop from the time I installed it. FuelMoto put the map on both. A conversation with FuelMoto lead me to believe there is no TP to set on the 08 due to the TBW. The muffler to pipe is sealed with copper anti-sieze on both bikes. If I put any more sealer in there it would be ozzing out. I've even replaced the header gaskets with new ones. Every thing is torqued to spec. I've even smoke tested it at the mufflers and head connections. If it's leaking it isn't blowing any smoke away. The 08 popped on decel until I put 10 to 15 in the zero column from just above idle to about 3K. Not every canned tune is going to work in every situation. I can live with making minor tweeks to get rid of the pop. That fixed it and the bike runs great.

I had popping on my 08 as well. Not bad but just enough to bug me. I just put 15 on the 0 tp column yesterday at Jamie's suggestions to give it a try today. Hopefully it helps. Jamie did tell me that the 07s and 08s were different.

i have -50 in the 0 tp column now but havent tested yet due to rain but hope fully test today, Jamie told me to try -15 ten lower settings down to -50 if that doesnt work try +settings.
i am soon thinking get rid of the PCV and go back to my PCIII. which i had no issues, just wanted to add autotune later.

Rambler, thats why they say "if it aint broke don't fix it!" Thats also whats great about the pcv and autotune. Doesn't matter if it ain't broke, You can still fix it.
