i installed a pcv from fuel moto with a SE stage 1 a/c kit and k&n filter, i`m getting some decell popping, but i am more concerned about the check engine light. when i turn the bike on the light come on as is normal when the light goes off i start the bike. AFTER I START THE BIKE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON FOR ,5, 6 SECONDS THEN GOES BACK OFF.
anybody have an opinion way this is happening? should i not ride the bike? should i put the bike back to stock and see if the light stay`s off? Thank`s
clear the engine codes and try running the bike. Mine did the same thing after installing the PCV, clear codes and no more light. It is still popping on decel, I will address that problem later.
you can search this site for info on clearing the codes.
Everyone says to contact Jamie if there are issues. They're really good to respond. I'm sure there may be a tweek on the settings causing the pop. Usually it is the other way around. It stops it, not creates it....
If you are getting the engine light for 5 seconds when you start the bike and it then goes out your bike has a stored code and is completely normal, likely from unplugging the ECM or from the TPS. This is not a current code and is not a problem. This will clear in 50 engine starts or it can be cleared thru the gauge pack. I do recommend if you have a pre-08 bike checking and resetting the closed throttle position setting with the PC software. If you have any questions feel free to contact us at 877-729-4754
I just finished a 2000 mile trip on my 2009 FLHX. I have the Fuelmoto package on my bike and it runs very well. I have a little decel popping at low rpm but the bike runs exceptionally well the entire trip and I averaged 40 mpg.
One of the stops was at Rolling Thunder on Sunday. After sitting in traffic waiting to move forward I shut the bike and turned it back on rather quickly. The throttle went into limp mode and would barely move the bike. I shut it on and off via the kill switch a few times and the bike then started fine.
Now when I turn the ignition on the light goes out but comes back on for a few seconds after I start the bike but it runs fine. I called the dealer and he said to bring the bike in and they will check/clear the code(s).
