I just ordered Rush 2.25" slip-ons for my '05 Electra glide. I am running the stock header pipes, a power commander and a K&N a/c. I have reprogrammed the p/c for the slip-ons and have been told they are loud. Has anyone had luck with this combination?
I have them on my 07 ultra and reall like the sound, you can really hear them when you get on the throttle and they mellow out crusing down the highway. I had the 1.75 and though they were to quiet

2.25 is too loud for me ... I have 1.75 pcIII usb and K&N with a dyno tune .. Its still pretty loud but it runs like a raped ape ....... I was really shocked when I looked at the map because they leaned it out ?.. I asked the guy that did the dyno and he is a good friend and he said it was way fat ... I like it although it has some sputtering issues on low speed once in a while.. Still I have no intentions of changing it right now......
If you are looking more for sound than over all performance you will probably like them. They can be heard pretty well but mellow out pretty decently when you get to cruising speed. When the dealer redid my bike after I wrecked, they picked up the wrong pipes, I couldn't tell if it was 2.25 or 2.5 but they sounded good they just lost ALOT of power over the 2". I could tell a bit difference in rolling on the throttle to pass, just didn't have the punch that the 2" has when you hit the gas, but sounded pretty good. Since I was used to the extra punch, I took it back and got them to get the 2".
I worked a lot with Rush when I worked for the dealer. You may lose a little low end torque with a stock 88" and 2.25" baffles. We recommended 2" or smaller for an 88", 2.25" and smaller for a 96". They make a 2.5" also, shouldn't be used unless you have some good performance mods.
Thanks for all the info from everyone! I just received them today and put them on. The Rush mufflers with 2.25 baffles sound good and get pretty loud at about 3000 rpm's. I ran out of time today but i will map the PCIIIusb tomorrow. Thanks again...
Well, I mapped the p/c usbIII with several different maps for slip-ons. All maps seemed to work well but the map for the 2.5" baffles worked the best from powercommander.com. I really haven't noticed that much of a power loss after switch from a true dual exhaust. Think I might keep them...
