I had Vance and Hines 2 into 1's on my Fatboy and they turned yellow pretty darn fast. I have 2 into 1 Thunderheaders on my 07 UCEG CVO and it only a little blueing between the end cap and cover piece. They sounds great and look great to me. I didn't feel like paying the extra $$$ for the falsie either. I've been told its easier to tune with a 2 into 1 also?
I orginally thougth the TH would be too loud. I got lucky and found a used one to try it out in case i was too loud.
With my carbed EVO, it has a deep low tone and not loud unless I crank the throttle hard which I don't. I have heard other bikes that are much louder just don't know what they have because by the time I hear them they are driving away.
My preference is performance over looks so the 2 into 1 doesn't bother me as much as it might bother others.
Thunderheader makes a lot of power.
Thunderheader makes a lot of noise.
Thunderheader chrome deteriorates within 100 miles.
Thunderheader mounting brackets break continually.
+1. Thunderheaders are obnoxiously loud. The welds break and they will for sure get you some tickets, the trend is for leos to start cracking down on noise and TH's will almost guarentee that. I was in Monteray Calif a couple years ago on 17 mile drive (for those that are not familiar with that area, its where the homes start at $20 million and they have PGA toruneys there).
A cop walked up to us and told the 2 guys with Theaders not to come back in this town or he will write them. This was before they even started the bikes. Point is;if you want to give the man probable cause definitely go with thunderheader
I have Rinehart true duals and I'm very happy. I don't think they're too loud. I agree they look great on a bagger. Mine haven't blued at all. Good Luck
im a rineharts person! im sure the v&h duals are of equal performance, but in my opinion a bagger needs duals, i think they look funny with a 2 into 1 exhaust.
