Hi All, I was wondering what's the latest and greatest, I've heard low wattage hi-output lamps are near as good as led/hid, also a friend got the H-D LED's and although they are very bright at night, during the day you can't hardly see them becuase they are the same color as daylight. I'm looking for the best (A) Bang for buck in extending my vision at night. (B) Best light to make me visible to others day and night. (C) Head light and passing lamp upgrades. Any and all advice welcomed.
I just tried to order the HD LED 73390-10.
This is the answer I got:
the part is not in stock, but is on order. However, the company has sent an email from corporate that these items are back ordered for a materials change.
I was sceptical......leds are not know for throwing light, but instead for being seen by others and lower amp draw. I'm a tech by trade and was pretty impressed for seeing and being seen. I sprung for the set--eastern performance in MD, $450 out the door using the ebay price. Now be aware of this--these lights were not designed to fit your HD. They will fit the bike, but the spots don't fit perfectly with the stock trim rings. The headlight trim ring was not too cooperative going back on. I improvised a bit so they are nice and snug. Went on the maiden voyage last night about 9pm......bottom line, I am never going back to a halogen bulb unless it is my only option. If they cant hear me coming, they sure as hell will see me!!! See the link to Truklite. This is my opinion............ http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs...0001&langId=-1

I'll have to remember that so I can tell that to the other riders when I am riding in a group during the day since they told me it's like having the sun hitting their mirrors. I've also noticed that some cars will get out of my same lane after I've rode behind them for a while.
Of course, some riders have asked me about the LED headlamp and how much it costs. It also cracks me up when I hear people complain about the price after they talk about safety, then say it's too expensive. Personally, I'd rather spend some green to be more visible than loss some red. After all, it's not like many don't spend some green on chrome.
Roger that TNB.......these are well worth the admission price. I like how people bitch about the cost to upgrade to the lights, the price of gas, but don't have a problem with tossing on a piece of chrome nobody will see, or dropping $100+ on a night out. Go figure.
