Default new computer,new sert ?

My Neighbor had a new computer put in his 05 Ultra. This was done under warranty and they told him he would have to buy a new SERT because it can only be used with one VIN#, he said its the same VIN#, just a new computer. More arguing with the dealer got him nowhere, he left without having the SERT done.
My question is can you use the same SERT with a new computer?

ECM is from Harley. SERT is from Harley. If they replaced the ECM under warranty, they owe you another race tuner under warranty.

I would take it to another dealer, take it up with MOCO, or resort to a small claims lawsuit. They don't get to just say "no" with no consequences.
