I notice when using the vox that the break threshold changes with speed. While freeway driving, I have to lower the sensitivity to avoid having the wind open the mic. When in town, I need to raise the sensitivity or it will not open or breaks up all the time. What this indicates to me is that the wind sock on the mic is not very effective at highway speeds.
Anyone found a solution to this other than using the PTT rather than the Vox?
I haven't really noticed that, and I do use the VOX function a lot and it took me a while to get it right, and generally speaking I am happy with mine.
I am wondering if there is a limited inter-relationship with the AVC (auto volume control) setting? Maybe if you tried the AVC at it's 2 extremes and see if you can find a pattern
