I am thinking of ordering a Corbin Dual Touring seat for my 2007 RK custom. Does anyone use this seat on their Road King? Any thoughts on it?
I had the Corbin Dual touring on my RK. It is firm and takes a little ridign to break in. After a couple of hundred miles, I really loved the seat. I had the rider and passenger backrest for mine. Worked great.
After having a stock seat and then 6 years on a Sundowner, the Corbin Dual Touring is handsdown the best. Leather is the key. more support and breathablility.
If you look/ask long enough - you will find that Corbin is a Love/hate seat.. meaning, that some love it others hate them..
I fall into the "Love" group. I live about 90 miles from the Corbin factor in Ca - I have been on Harley's now since 96 and have a Corbin on each one... the last two have been built during theire "Ride in appoitment" Meaning that you make the appoitment - arrive in the morning - meet with the builer - talk about what you want - he then starts the build and makes it fit YOUR bottom and your riders bottom - as the build progresses, you test, sit, test ride - seat is adj as needed - then after YOU say - its perfect - it then gets covered and you leave at the end of the day with a custom seat built to YOU... Most people are not close enough too take advantage of this - so they mail order...
Like I said in the beginning - look around and you will find that Corbin's customer service on the mail order end has NOT been all that great in the pasts.. IF YOU do order - my advice is to keep very good notes - track time of call and who you have talked to.... make copies of all emails and again, keep notes...
The foam that Corbin uses is very different that other seats - I love mine and can ride HOURS longer than anyother seat..
Enjoy your Corbin..
Here is our Corbin - about 4 years old and 25K miles
