nothing wrong with HD motor builds---especially if warranty is important.
I have had three motor builds all HQs not one motor problem yet--total of 30k miles.
My last HQs 107 was built at Granite Mtn HD, they warranty there work --
You have to get what you are comfortable with--there are some that you should stay away from but generally you can't go wrong with HQs, Axtell, S&S, Zippers, AMS or/and GMR.
Like someone else said -- the price of a 103 vs 107 is very minimal
