Sorry hear that bro. I would think most body shops could repair the damage

Depending on how bad it is, it should be able to be repaired and primed in at most 1 day. painted and polished the next and then on to you that day or the 3rd day. Hope this helps
Yeah, I did ask if they could do it faster and they said maybe, but right now they are really backlogged with work so they are saying three weeks to be safe. From what I hear they do a good job, and I'm not sure I'm in any position to be pushy, so it'll be what it'll be. Hopefully it can be done in one to two weeks.

Not sure how it will work for your color, but I used harley touch up paint to fix the fairing on a black and white police motor after the fairng was damaged in motor school. Actually I did two of them.

I used the touch up in the scratches, wet sanded it when it was dry, repeated until it was built up level. Then I used rubbing compound, finishing glaze and polish. You have to look real hard to tell it was touched up.

Could be an option to get you through the summer.

Well, worse than I thought. Before I took the fairing in to be reworked I noticed that the right side upper threaded brace that accepts the screw was broken completely from the fairing. I've tried several times gluing it back on with ABS cement, but it's not taking. I've even tried bracing it with small pieces of ABS plastic, but no go. Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to buy a new fairing after all. Man, just a little drop from an almost dead stop and I end up needing a new fairing. This has been a lousy riding season so far. First the cold weather, then the rain and more rain, and now this.

If anyone has any good tips on getting the ABS cement to work, let me know, otherwise I'll be ordering a new fairing tomorrow. I figure three to four weeks if I'm lucky, at least that's what Zanotti's claims.

Not to change the subject - but - post some pics of your work in your profile. I'm assuming you paint bikes from your comments.

Not to belabor the point, but I found the secret to gluing ABS plastic with ABS cement. I decided to make one last try to glue the screw post bracket back on the fairing before ordering a new fairing. This time I gooped the ABS cement on the bracket, let it set for an hour, then cut up an ABS plumbing fitting and gooped all the pieces around the bracket. Then, once or twice a day for several days I just continued to goop the ABS cement on this entire bracket mess. After several days of this, I had one pile of ABS that ain't going nowhere. I put the fairing back on last night and it's holding fine. Anyways, persistence pays off for those ever with this problem.
