Default speedo problems

Went for a short ride yesterday and on the way home noticed my speedo is not working and my blinker reset is not working. The blinkers work but do not reset after the turn. The odometer is showing the miles but does not change. Any ideas of things to look for? thanks for the help.

Did you check for any blown fuses?

The speed sensor is bad. You can pull it and clean off any metal you find, and it may start working again. But, if it doesn't then you'll have to replace the sensor. It's on top of the transmission behind the oil filler and under the starter solenoid. It plugs in under the seat in front of the battery.

All the fuses looked ok, I'll try to clean the sensor tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Default Just happened on mine....

You may still have a mechanical Speedo drive. Dealer told me that only recently the speedo's were no-mechanical. Check the drive on your front wheel. Mine needed to be replaced.. same symtoms as yours, AVC didnt work, turn signals didnt cancel & no speedo.
was approximately $45 for the speedo gear.. only took about 20 mins to replace.. front wheel removal is required.

I have had the same problem on my 99 EG Classic. Turns out it was the last year for stock mechanical speedo, wich i also found out that the drive is hard as hell to find. Yes, your speedo is electric. And at the time i am writing this, you've prob long since fixed the problem.
