Default License Plate Relocator

I've got the 09 RKC, and would love to move the license plate below the tailight. Only kit I've seen was from Harley, and it ain't cheap. Anyone gone a different route, and how did you light it? Thanks much, Jim

i took the license plate bracket off the grab bar and installed some LED on it that light up the plate and mounted it on the fender just above the bumper. I used the power from the fender tip light to power the LEDs. I got a chrome cover to cover up the license plate light thats in the old tail light. I then cut off the grab bar and I'm in the process of filling the holes in the tubes with some spikes (pike nuts) i got on ebay.

you can also go into the parts manual, and buy the parts separate for the street glide license plate mount. not super cheap, but a lot cheaper than what the kit costs.

I'll be removing my lights from my '09 RG.
Same setup as a SG.

PM if interested in the assembly.

A 09 RK Standard or EG Standard signal light and license plate bracket will work as there both below taillight. If you want to go bullets look at the Kuryakyn 2098 kit. Here's a plate mount that'll probably work too as it mounts to your existing signal bar you'll just need to get light to it via LED etc.

Thanks for the link acchd. I knew both the RK and SG had the same setup, but I think you have to buy the whole assembly $200+

See mine in this link. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...9-ultra-3.html

If I did it again I would get the lightbar for a standard RK/EG and just get a frame. Think it would look cleaner then mine. Regardless I used the one from the link acchd got from me and they also had a $4 license frame. If you use this piece, make sure to cover it in tape where it touches the fender when you install... it will eat the paint otherwise. Added laydown from Ridetime Tech with license plate light on bottom. Ridetime sells them, but not listed on website, Kieth builds it for you if you call and ask for that.
