A warm wet towel works best. Lay it over the fairing for a few minutes and they come off easy. Don't rub hard unless you want scratches. I'm not a Pledge fan but it does work.
Hydrogen Peroxide mixed 50% water - spray it on and wait a minute - the bugs just melt off. Its very cheap and works very well and it won't strip wax like Dawn & Simple Green.
+1...I really didn't believe it would work but I brought a bottle of 50/50 mix to Americade with me and used it there for the first time...It works as stated....Of course I probably have about 10 coats of wax on my fairing and windshield which probably helped too....
I've used the Peroxide for years and years with no damage. Just so much easier when out on the road. The wet towel, and letting it sit works great too, but if you're traveling the HP is the answer.
I have multiple coats of Rain X ont he front of my Electra Glide and I just grab a bottle of Rain X window cleaner, spray it down, wait a min or two and wipe off. I then do a quick Mist and Shine and it looks as good as new with no swirl marks etc.
