Kinda new here but what do you all use to clean the bugs off the fairing. It seems like its a never ending. And the harley stealer bug cleaner is getting expensive.
Its a 4 or 5 part process. 1. Wet a large towel in warm water and drape over the front of your bike, or tank or whatever youre cleaning. 2. Open your favourite beer, sit back and admire your bike. 3. After about 5 minutes, remove the towel and wipe the bugs right off with a soft sponge. 4. Coat your fairing and or windshield with pledge; it will make the next clean up easier. 5. Finish that beer you started a few minutes ago. Seriously, a wet towel and pledge make clean ups easy. The beer is just an added Bonus.
I heard tell that a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water will take 'em right off. Never tried it myself. But I have several coats of Zaino on my fairing so don't really have a problem getting the bugs off. Just wet it down and wait a few minutes. A little light scrubbing with a good car wash soap and wash mitt gets 'em right off.
Hydrogen Peroxide mixed 50% water - spray it on and wait a minute - the bugs just melt off. Its very cheap and works very well and it won't strip wax like Dawn & Simple Green.

+1 on this, First make sure you have a good coat of wax on the fairing and tank. Each time I get back (like tonight) I get a pail of hot water and soak 2 towels in it and drape them over the fairing and tank. Drink half your beer, and then just wipe them off, that simple, they come right off if you do it when you get back from your ride. I then put the towel back in the pail and do this again for the lower fairings and the front fender/forks. Just hot water, as cheap as you can get. Well it does cost you a beer but at least you get to drink it.

Agree with everything but the pledge (only because I have never tried it) I do use Plexus on the shield though makes the process that much easier.
Forgot to add, after I am done with that I usually hit the fairing and tank with some Mequiars Ultimate Detailer spray, this makes them come off easy on the next ride
