Rear Shocks
Got home from vac on Fri and my right rear shock on my 01 EGC took a dump on my garage floor. Havent had much time to shop for shocks yet but what do you guys think about riding the bike. The left one seems to be ok.
Technically you can ride on one shock as there is still a spring inside both that is supporting the weight. The oil and air are there just for setting and adjusting the dampening of the shock. But yes I would get them changed.
Are these standard shocks? I have a set of take offs I would be willing to part with.

440 progressive are pure crap as any Progressive shock product. And that is a fact. There are many postings on this subject and made by members who have (Progressive) both tried a good shock and tossed the Progressives. Many (Progressive) are on this forum in the past few weeks for sale. They do have nice pictures, good sales network, and good advertising. They perform/ride like crap. The only people who like them are the ones with no experience in anything else.
An air shock uses the fluid (oil) to dampen (read slow down) the action of the shocks. They have a small hole in the bottom of the cylinder to let the fluid in or out. The air pushes down on the outside spring by a plastic/nylon cup. This puts more spring pre-load on the outside spring. Cut a stock air shock apart and see for yourself. I did.
