Had these put on when I bought bike 2 yrs (18k miles) ago. Any way to get these louder?
I don't think they have gotten quieter, I think I'm just getting used to them, would like a little more db?
You can take out the baffles, but you will lose some low end torque. that is the easiest way as most exhaust companies make "quiet" baffles but not "louder than stock" baffles.
They do make some alternative baffles. The Hi-Performance Baffles are said to be louder, though i didn't notice much difference when a buddy of mine installed them. What did the trick for me, upgrade the cam and you'll get a louder exhaust note, and better performance to boot!
god I hate to sound like a geezer, but why would you want it louder? Honestly, I have ridden a bike with those pipes and it sounded great. We really are in an era when government wants to control every aspect of our lives.
We can't seem to change that, but why give them reason to make some bullshit sweeping law that would ban aftermarket pipes alltogether? (don't think it can't happen)
Stick with the sound you have. It's great, deep, throaty and not totally obnoxious.
