I took the plunge (another apes on a bagger thread)
Ok, I did it, I managed to sell and trade parts so that I could do all the changes I want to the bike, and I only came out of pocket about $250.
I just ordered my 14" apes from custom chrome and the necessary wiring and cables from johnny vaughn. I'm off of work for another 4 weeks for a broken foot, meaning that it will be at least a month until I can ride, so hopefully that will help me take my time and avoid frustration.
Wish me luck, I for one am wishing I didn't have ABS right now...
