Hi all, any findings about the noise in the first post? I'm having the same sound and it's making me uncomfortable as well. Dealer told me it's the nature of the beast and it's got something to do with cam chain tensioners wearing out. Nothing to worry about for now they said. Any truth in it? mileage is slightly above 10k
Could be compensator noise. I was looking at another thread about the stock compensator and several years were designed poorly and created all kinds of issues. The thread has some very well documented tech info about the "designed to fail" unit.
Lifter noise on an EVO seems to be very normal. But you could consider a worn cam, bad lifter, rocker in need of adjustment or replacement. Interesting the re-manufactured motor used the original design that all made some degree of lifter noise stock. (worse when performance components are added).
