In the market for a sg. for my price range I have found a few 06 and 07"s. The 06's are low mileage and have a few more accessories ( pipes, backrest) then the 07's which are basically low mileage stock.
The 07's are jsut a bit more cash but are still in my range.
Question is the 96 6spd that much different then the 88 5 spd ?
I know it's a toss up. Just dont want cubic inch remorse.
Dont ride much highway around here.
Currently ride an 03 softail and its 88 5 does fine.
Anyone out there move from the 06 to 07,08 and waht are your thoughts, thanks for the info.
Mine is an 06. Between the two I'd get the 07 for the reasons you stated. I've never heard anyone say they didn't need the larger cubic inches or extra gear.
The 96 and 6 speed is just awesome, I have any 07. I ride the freeway alot here on California. We are big spread out state so I use 6 speed alot. But the 07 is a bit tall and not effective over 70 mph.
From what you have posted I would look at the 06 and 07 just because what you are replacing you are totally happy with.
The incentive going 08 is the Brembo ABS and Fly by wire cruise. Those two enhancements are that good and worth money.
To me it would come down to what is in the budget and stay within those parameters.
