yea im running the gears. my pinion runout was <.001 and lash was good. its not gear noise i am hearing its in the top end once it gets hot. i am allready used to it, just had the post assembly jitters worrying about any little noise
I noticed i was getting some pinging under heavy loads and high throttle positions (basically only when near lugging which i know i shoulnt do) so i put -2 timing from 2250-3250 and 15-50% TPS and i cant make it ping now no matter how hard i try. I had been warned about this by several builders, but never found any reports of people having pinging issues with the 26's. I dont seem to notice the aforementioned top end noise anymore and have come to realize it is normal.
checked mileage yesterday burned through 2 tanks getting 43.5 mpg, which is an improvement of 2-3 mpg for me. pretty surprised since i havent exactly been easy on the throttle. very happy overall.
