THANKS OR IS MONEY BETTER INVESTED ANOTHERWAY, LOOKING TO GET IT CRISPED UP A LITTLE! FIRST HARLEY NOT AT ALL UNHAPPY JUST DID NOT THINK AT PURCHASE TIME GOING 103-107 OR 110 WAS A MUST!!! WAS PROBABLY WRONG I LIKE MY **** TO RUN
There are a million posts here arguing the benefits and downfalls od the SERT. Do a search and you will find hours of reading on the subject.
If you are makings changes to your bike, i.e. Pipes, air cleaner, cams, motor upgrade.....Then the SERT, tuned on a dyno by someone that really knows what they are doing, is one of the best ways to get the most out of your modifications. But, it will need to be retuned each time you change something on the engine to keep it right.
If you leave it like it is, it will run lean and hot and you won't be getting your moneys worth out of your other mods. If you haven't changed anything, it will run just fine like it is.
There are many other "tuners" out there other than the SERT that also do a great job. It's a big decision so read up and make the best choice for you.
I was not impressed with the "guts" of my new 09 Street Glide initially.
At 500 miles I did the Rinehart slipons, SEAC and the SEST. Because of the low mileage I chose not to have a dyno at that time. That was 7K miles ago. I have been so impressed with the overall performance (torque, mileage and heat) that I don't want it messed with. I'm sure it has more to give but for now it suits me.
