HD Garage Door Opener Installation Question
My daughter got me the garage door opener for Father's day to put on my 2009 Ultra. I plan to install it tomorrow but I've been reading the instructions and I have a question maybe someone could answer for me. I see the transmitter goes in the fairing and it has a couple tabs but based on the instructions you use double sided tape to attach it and you don't use the tabs? Seems odd since the tabs have holes that looks like it is made to bolt through. It also says to make the led in the circuitry visible which also seems like you would be mounting it on the wrong side? Anyone mount one of these on an 09 Ultra, how did you do it? I was hoping to find a picture installation thread but either my search talents are lacking or there is not one to be found? Thanks, Alan

I believe in the glides all have them taped to the inside of the fairing. Mines been there for years without a problem. The tabs might be used if the module is mounted inside a nacelle like on a Road King where there isn't ample space to stick it.

Tape works ok but don't use Harleys, I did and wondered why my door opener wasn't working properly and found the tape had let go, I used a good 3M tape to replace the cheap Harley tape that comes with the unit.
