Default Help for wireless system needed

I want to have a wireless system for rider and passenger 3/4 helmets before a cross country in August. I also am going to get a new XM/Sirius radio and a MP3player. I would like for the XM to be hard wired for good performance. Any suggestions on equipment and its installation? The XM would be replacing an old model Delphi, which is about the size of a 1/2 brick.

The last time I checked into it, Bluetooth technology wasn't up to the point I wanted it to be for me to buy into it. Either the talk time wasn't long enough for a cross country trip or rechargable batteries wouldn't power decent enough stereo helmet speakers to make music sound up to par AND run the intercom.. If you just want to talk, without stereo, I think you might be able to find something with almost acceptable talk time, but if you put in long days in the saddle, you'll be running out of talk time. It's been a year or so since I checked into it, so things might have changed.

I agree with MAX56 on the bluetooth stuff. I have Cardo Scalarider Q2s that the wife and I use bike to bike but the audio quality is not even close to usable for music and it's not stereo. Take a look at autocomusa.com if you want to add intercom and music to your bike. There are several models that could fit your needs. Ride safe.

Autocom is the Cadilac of the intersom systems IMHO. But it is not wireless yet to my knowledge. If all you want it rider to passenger intercom, there are lots of good bluetooth systems out there. but if you want quality music, your probably stuck with wires.
