Default Run/Turn/Brake Module

I have one of the Harley modules on my wife's 2007 Sporster and was wondering if anyone knows if this one will also work on my 2008 Road Glide. I can not find one on the HD site for the RG but the one for the Sportster is...

69463-06

Bullet Lens Style

Fits '04-later XL models (except XL883N and XL1200N).

I would think they would be the same since the RG has pretty much the same light set up in the back as the Sportster, same brake lens and same turns signal heads.

If not does anyone have the Harley part number for one that will work on the RG?

Thanks

Don't buy the Harley module, instead buy the Badlands Illuminator and forget about it.

It will fit and will work, but it won't meet DOT requirements. Read the note at the end of the item..............

NOTE: Not intended for use on '04-later FLHX, FLHRS, FLTR, FLHTCSE models, '05-later FLSTN models or models equipped with Bullet Turn Signal Bar Kit P/N 68615-04 or 68617-04. If installed on these models the system will function properly but will not meet the DOT minimum separation requirement for a red tail light to red turn.)

That is only if you install the bullet lenses as these are smaller and put out less light. If you have the stock lights you are OK. Also the Sportster lenses are a bit smaller.

That is what I do not understand. The lights are exactly the same? The brake light lens is interchangeable and the turnsignal lenses are interchangeable.

OK for a sportster and not other with the same lights????

Does not make sence?

The DOT standards state that the signals have to be a certain distance from the tail lamp if they are going to be red and used in this fashion. The sportster signals are obviously farther away from the tail lamp than the bullet style on the FL's with the short bars.

Plus IIRC the Sportster lamps were snap in and the FL series stock lamps were larger, flatter and use screws.

Thanks Dawg, you never cease to amaze!!!

DrPlastic, SGs and RGs have the same bullet signals as a Sportster it is just they are on a bar on the rear fender closer to the tail light instead of on the fender struts on each side of the fender.

I have actually removed my turnsignal bar and am going to add some led strips and want them to function as run/turn/brake with the module that is on my wife's 883, She really does not need it anymore since I added the signal stalk leds to hers.

Thanks

Tried this last night and this will not work. The connectors are different. Does anyone have a part number for a Harley version that will work on a 2008 RG.

Thanks
