Am I trying to be cheap, well, uhm, YES! I do not print my own money in my basement, so the money I do have is limited. I buy what I want, but seek a bargain where available. The whole reason for the service manual in the first place is to save money. You can say you wrench for the enjoyment if ya want, but if an oil change was free you would not do them yourself.

stolen parts, I am sorry Officer I don't think I understand the question... Ever bought a part off of e-bay? Did ya know the seller personally? Were ya there when they obtained it legally? You might be surprised as to how many stolen parts YOU own.
You make a valid point, however, if someone was ever to go door to door looking for PDF manuals and books, MP3's, DVD movies and movie files, and the appropriate license together.... EVERY internet user is guilty in one way or another.
Is it against the copyright to copy a page of your manual? Is it against the copyright to share that with a friend? OR is copyright to prevent you from copying and selling the printed material?
