Default Vibration in handle bars

I have an 05 Road Glide that has about 200 miles on it. It seems to me that I'm now experiencing a very strong vibration in the handle bars at a low and moderate engine RPM. I don't experience it if I'm powering up. It seems to run very smooth but if I tend to coast at approximately 1800 - 2000 once in a while the entire handle bar will begin to vibrate. Has anybody else experienced this? Thanks.

Funny you should post this today... I just rode a Road Glide yesterday as a loaner while my Ultra was getting the 10K maintenance. I experienced that when at idle, and also when coming to a stop and the engine came through the 1000-1600 rpm area. Then at idle it was really rough.

The Road Glide I was riding had about 8K miles on it. It was a 2005, and I know that it had the same issues with motor mounts breaking like my Ultra did. I mentioned it to the dealer on return, and got the nod that it might be a correct diagnosis.

Check this out with the dealer... It could be a mount gone bad already.

There was a post a week or so ago about the rubber bushings missing or overtightened on the riser. You might check that the dealer didn't overtighten them, or lose them alltogether.

I have an 05 road king.....have had the same problem from day one. Never bothered me after I learned the difference in the engines. The touring bikes have the 88A Engine. The B-balanced engine has some counter weights that smooth out the engine at idle. I believe the A has an extra 1/2 hp or so when in Stock condition.

I am not a big gear head, so I am sure I could be wrong....anyone that knows better, please advise. Until then, I'm not worried about it at all.
