So the first picture is of a correct backplate with the vent holes, and the second is a closeup of mine -- vent holes are missing!!!!! Correct backplate is from an O9, and in different pictures of each one that i didnt post you can see the same, correct part number!!
Very interested to see if this is the problem. Let us know.
but it would not be that hard to drill the hole at all.
drill and a small drill bit and a vise would do the job... but some people just don't have the tools
FINAL POST -- got replacement SE A/C kit. Low and behold, there are two vent holes in the backplate that were missing on the original backplate -- same part number. Anyway got new kit on, and PCV and everything is running great.
For fellow newbies, this is a simple project. I'm handy with a wrench, but am no mechanic. Just follow directions. Only suggestion now that I've put this thing on and off so many times, is don't remove the fuel tank like instructed. Others here have said work around it carefully with allen wrenches, but I found that a pain. I take out the four fuel tank bolts, then i carefully prop something under the tank to lift it up, empty water bottle or something. Gives you room to work and doesn't require disconnecting any wires or fuel lines.
Thanks for the help everyone. Now to install the BrightAss lights and GPS!
