Bought my 1st Harley about a month ago. 09 EG Classic. Don't know why I waited so long! It's great! Buddy of mine who has an Ultra told me to make sure I get it lowered. He said it "looks kinda goofy if you don't". I don't think it looks goofy, and at a stop, I can put both heels on the ground, so the bike's not too high for me now. Why else does anybody out there lower a Classic or Ultra if both your feet touch the ground at a stop?

I put StreetGlide shocks on mine even though I could touch the ground. Looks better when I strip my Ultra down for solo riding. IMO.
If you reach the ground fine, there is no reason to lower it other than looks....In Fact you reduce your lean angle by lowering it. I lowered mine front and back because I could not flatfoot without doing so. I do like the way it handles with the lower center of Gravity.
Why lower it if you can flat foot? I lowered mine for looks- ride is a bit harsher but as I typically ride solo- no other issues - fwiw.
That's what I thought ---- why lower if I can touch the pavement. What does it do for looks? Guess I can't tell which ones have been lowered, and which ones haven't. Maybe I just haven't noticed the ones that are lowered.
May look 'Cool' but will ride/feel like Crap if you plan to Tour with two up... Iam 5'6" and lowered my but went back to stock - never could get a good ride out of the lowered - but it looked cool....
