After a few close calls I now mentally stop and think, neutral, kickstand, ignition.
Sucks getting old.

While stopped in nuetral at idle, noticing his shift lever was loose, he had the brilliant idea that he should bend down and give it a hand tug and see just how loose it really was. Of course he clunked her into gear and she lurched forward enough for him to lose it. It really seemed like the thing to do at the time, so Im told....

i saw a guy in our group leave his bike in gear and then later start it while not on, it landed in grass but it was at ROLLING THUNDER!!! literally thousands of bikers were right there.
