I don't know about everyone else, but I think for big guys like myself, 6'6"/270, the new improved Hammock Seat sucks. I have over 9000 miles on my 2009 SEUC, and after about 150 miles my butt would be killing me. I took the seat to a local seat builder to have it rebuilt, and when he tore it apart we found the reasons and there appears to be several.
1) the vinyl covering, especially the gray middle part is very stiff and hard, and the underside of it is the same
2) the hammock is a peice of cloth material, that the foam rests on, the idea might be a good one, but for big guys like me, I sit at the rear most part of the dirvers seat, thus when you look at these pictures you will find you are not sitting on the hammock, but on the plastic holding it and the plastic seat pan, that is covered by less that two inches of foam. It seams that for a nearly $40,000 bike that this is a cheap seat.
I am having the entire seat done, getting rid of the "hammock" and will have foam and gel put in and covered with a good grade of leather.
