So I got my Wide Open Custom Plastics Fairing back from Southern Metal Choppers (Austin, TX) after being painted. They did an awesome job on the paint as you can tell by looking at the picture of my reflection I tool looking straight into the fairing. I installed the Jensen AM/FM/CD/IPod/Sirius radio and four Jensen speakers. Slide in and bolted down the windshield and installed it on the bike.
I prefer no fairing or windshield which is why I bought a Road King instead of a Street Glide. But the old lady complains about the wind at highway speeds. So I figured a removable fairing was a good compromise as she is not always with me.
I think it turned out pretty good. What do ya/ll think?
It looks great and I am a big fan of add-on fairings for Road Kings, but I personally found the air around the fairing of my SG more turbulent than the windshield of my Road King. I will be curious to read what your wife thinks.
Looks super great, but it wont help with wind. My Super Glide Custom with detatchable shield has less wind than the Ultra, and it cuts the wind much better too.
