It's almost time for us guys from work to go on the annual "wife trip" . This trip it is going to be branson. We were wondering where a good place to stay is. Not too expensive like the Chateau on the Lake but a nice place with a built in bar since we like to do a little drinking on these trips and definately don't want to drink and ride. Any suggestions?
I spent a week at the hilbilly motel on the strip and had great breakfast buffets and a quiet bar in the evening.great prices.traffic is nuts at night.
The outback steakhouse has a hotel right there behind it and alot to do all around it. Accross the street is another hotel with a mall and resturant in it. Google the strip in branson and try to see the tourist map. There are hotels all along the strip for a fair price. When are you planning to go? If there is time pm me and I can get some info and send it to you.
I went to Branson in May for the motorcycle rally and stayed at the Quality Inn on Shepherd of the Hills. Reasonably priced, bar on premises, free breakfast in the morning, pool and they are motorcycle friendly - let you park you bike in the covered walkways. Traffic in Branson is the pits but there's lots to do there.
I would have to agree with jd533, the Outback Roadhouse is an excellent place to stay, great restaurant and has a separate bar with live music on most weekends. Has a secluded pool on back side of rooms. It is on the east end of the strip, so it is not too far from the Branson Landing, lots of shopping and restaurants and bars. You can't go wrong at the Outback Roadhouse.
sa315b, you hit the nail on the head. which is why i prefer going to small towns, to a mom and pop diner having good coffee and a slice of banana cream pie, and visiting with the locals. crowded places are way too busy for me. a whole lot of peace can be found for me in that way. it makes the ride very pleasant.

http://www.crystalcovebranson.com/ They don't have a bar but the cabin rooms are nice and it's quiet....just down the road from the Chateau if you want to drink there...also not far from Silver Dollar City.
