I still don't know why folks keep buying those cheap flat pieces of plastic that need to be bent into the fairing and bolted on.
Well, because they are cheap. The problem for me is I want to find the right size shield before I spend the big money for a form fitted shield. I can buy five cheap shields for the price of one good form fitted shield. Once I find that size I like, I will get me the $150 shield. However Long ride shields has just changed that line of thinking for me.
I'm wondering how they work for wind in the face of the passenger, I mean, isn't that the most important factor???? Mama says she has a lot of wind in her face with the stock shield on my 08 Ultra.

The results we've gotten back from testing have been very positive concerning wind deflection. The flare design has contributed significantly to this. Riders claim that their 6" long ride shields block more than their flat 8" shields. If wind deflection is your priority, I suggest going with a 8"-10" shield. www.longrideshields.com/shields
For RG ideas, i would like one that allows me to smoke a cigar while riding.
Other than that, it should be clear, vary in size probably 8" - 16" tall, deflect the wind up and over the riders head and to the sides, and have a quiet performance on the freeway. So, i would say any of the above combinations that allows me to smoke a cigar while riding would be awesome.
By the way, your site looks cool. Keep up the good work!

Taller could be interesting. I'll have to bounce that idea off the engineers. As of now, the tallest we offer is a 10", which seems to do an awesome job at wind deflection esp. due to the added flip-up design.
Thanks for the compliments on the site, trying to keep it simple yet appealing... still have some small bugs to squash.
looks like a great product. My 01 ultra has the 12" shield & with the tall rider seat is the perfect height for seeing over. Would the 10" give the same protection. How dark are the tints. It's hard to tell from the pics.

The 10" should easily give you the same if not a little more deflection than a 12" without the flip.
You know, that's a good point. It's not very clear on the website. I'll go through and update the shields section with tints as well. They're all there scattered around, but it'd be good to get them organized and labeled like we did with sizes.

Ok, the tint section is now up. It's on the shields page under the sizes section. Hopefully that helps out. I'll have to get some side by side shots to make the differences between tints more apparent and give you a more accurate representation. It'll be a lot easier to do in one photograph where the lighting is the same for each shield.
