My entire tour pak hinge/latch setup is loose so I bought the wonderful Harley latches and found out the holes in the tour pak lid are oblonged from being loose. Any ideas to fix. Screws wont work.
Sorry to hear of your trouble. You might try aluminum or steel thin-wall tubing to create sleeves around the hinge hardware that fits into the sides of the lid and bottom.
Also, if the HD chrome hinge kit you bought has a PN ending with "-08," you might return them for the newer kit (introduced within the past couple of weeks with a "-08A" ending. The former were not intended for use with fiberglass tour paks.
LIke my tour pack luggage rack, when this happens to me i will be putting a aluminum plate on the inside to help distribute the stress..plus it will be installed with a rubber sealer to isolate vibration somewhat.
The luggage rack I used 1 1/2" round aluminum "type" washer under each bolt
