Went from a Deuce to a SG and love it. I miss the handling and the performance, but for riding highways everyday to work, it was the best decision. If you cant get both, rent touring bikes until you find the one for you.

You will never look back. Have an Ultra and Deuce. Like the Deuce ride for short trips but the long ones.............AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH spells Ultra

out on the open road the Ultra is great, and two up is comfortable all day for mama.

I miss my softtail for the sweepers and twisties though, it was rock solid and never wobbled.

multiple bikes in the stable would be ideal..

You have either 1) never riden in a Jeep Wrangler (with or without a lift kit) or 2) you need to trade bikes. No way a Jeep Wrangler is comfortable under any circumstances.

Hafta disagree with ya, Texas Fat Boy. I not only like riding and tripping in a Wrangler, my OL even thinks it's great. She's been cross country in two of 'em. And we both have travelled in other vehicles including Jaguar, Volvo, Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, and gawd knows what else. We ain't spring chickens.

I'm shopping a soft tail deluxe for around town at the moment...I'll keep the 07 road king for the hwy tho and the 07 sporty for when I wanna act stupid.

You simply can't beat an FL for ride and handling overall. If you wanna go fast from light to light, then get a dyna or a sporty. The softy is more for those with short legs who tote a bitch for short rides and don't want to fall over with her on it.....On the hwy tho, his bitch will wish she was sitting behind you on your FL.

With a little practice, on an FL you can outride any other big Harley in slow traffic or parking lots. The FL's are graceful and balanced. They wanna go straight but don't complain when you go twisty n slow.

The road king is the best all around Harley ever made....You can strip off the shield and bags and scoot around town, or dress her to the max in ten minutes and hit the long road. High or low speed she still handles well and remains predictable.

These comments are why I went with the FLTR. Having the weight of the fairing on the bars/forks makes the steering a little heavier. Get the FLTR and you get the best of both worlds. I went from an 03 Screamin Eagle Deuce to an 09 FLTR and love it. The Deuce was great, but the RG is awesome. Still has the light steering like the Deuce did, but have the stereo, wind protection, storage and a much more forgiving suspension! Riding over manhole covers on the Duece meant feeling it in the seat, not so with the Road Glide.

You can still feel the railroad tracks but I've found that I don't catch myself lifting off the seat to avoid the bumps like I used to do on the Heritage.

My v-rod is fun for bar hopping and cruising around town. The SG is like riding a love seat down the road. My poor V-rod has only gotten to see about 400 miles of road this year and the SG is coming up on 6k for the season. Should tell you which one is more comfortable. like some others have said. If you rent a touring bike it will cost you about $20,000.00. Ride Safe.
