Seriously I switched to Amsoil 20w50 in engine amsoilsevere gear 75w90 for transmission and amsoil 10w40 for primary. Works well and tranny is quiet.
Forgot to mention that the other advantage I found with the 140 weight oil in the tranny is that it really minimizes 5 gear whine and geartrain noise. Wish I did this at the 1000 mile service.
Exact same thing I noticed, 5th gear lots quieter...... All I will use in tranny from now on!
You can get amsoil onile as well as redline. Have to pay an extra $7-8 for shipping ,but to me it is worth it. I just ordered ams for the engine and red hvy for the tranny. my 2 cnts
I just changed all three to Mobil1 in all three holes. But I use Mobil1 20w50 V-Twin in the engine, Mobil1 75W90 in the primary, and mobil1 75w140 in the trans. Seems to shift really smooth now and the engine seems a little cooler with the synthetic in there.
