Does size matter
Traded in my 06 Deuce for an 09 EGUC and went to put the battery tender on yesterday. The fitting comes out of the RH side by the oil cap on my 09. The tender plug was way smaller than the bike's plug. Almost as though the bike's plug had 3 connections vice the two on the tender. Is there something else on the plug beside hot/cold??
Not familer with the '09, does it come from the factory with a Battery tender pigtail plug??? You sure what you found is a tender plug in? Should only be a Positve and Negative connection plug attached to the battery terminals.
Yes it has the battery connection from the factory. I asked the salesman where it was during the inspection prior to acceptance. He showed it to me. I went out and looked into the plug and it looks like the hot/cold plus one more slot. The hot is embedded and the ground is exposed as one would expect, but then there is one slit and I think I see metal down inside. Could it be for the security system?

Here are the pictures of the battery tender with 3rd connection. You can see the battery tender junior size difference between it and the 09 HD receptacle.

Now I see what you mean. Good pictures. The little slot on the right is just for the rubber nub piece on the protective cap to fit in. It may have a small piece of metal in it to help reinforce the opening (make the cap nub easier to slip in) Plug your Tender into the male and female round connectors, you should be good to go. If your Tenders light is red (charging) or green (fully charged) the circuit is completed.
