My old battery tender has a 2 prong plug and my 2010 FLHX has a 3 prong plug. Is there any adpaters available or is there anyway to make what I have work without purchasing a new cable for the battery?

Don't know anything about 10s, but if it was me I'd triple check to make sure I was looking at a battery lead and not something that only looks like one.
Unless you have something diffferent than mine, the two prong plugs into the 3 prong plug - just align it so it fits. In fact, the third hole appears to be some kind of alignment hole. There is no contact inside the hole, it's really only a two-wire plug.
The newer battery tender plugs have a cap that goes over the plug in which the cover has a stud that slides into the female portion of the actual plug in. If the cap has been broken off, the female portion of the plug could appear to be a wired recepticle - which it isn't. Just a two plug connection.

Your right the hole is for alignment... reason I thought it was a live prong is my old battery tender would not work. I found out tonight that the fuse on the cable was blown. Replaced the fuse and not my 2 prong cablr works...
eravo, does the new pigtail have a small "slot" hole in it making it a 3 prong? I just looked at my 2011 Street Glide and that's what mine has. I shined a light on it and it looks like brass inside the slot. I didn't know if HD changed anything so I haven't hooked up my 6 year old tender yet.
