Default Drycell Battery

Has anyone tried a Drycell Battery -Odyssey PC925LMJ Battery or any other. I live in Texas on the coast so 90 + days are common most of the year along with high Humidity. My 2001 95ci Ultra is ridden almost everyday. My last HD battery lasted 29 months. So is the extra cost worth the money

I am running an oddyssey in my bike since the beginning of the ridining season and have had not issuses. I had to take my cables off the bike, put then in a vice and beat them into proper shape to use with this battery though. Would I do it again, yes. Supposedly the major bennefit of these is that it can take repeated full drains and still hold a proper charge. Nice if you drain it by accident on a trip, get a jump and ride on.

I don't know how well the Odyssey batteries work in Harleys in the Texas heat, but I run an Odyssey in the BMW K75RT that I ride in the winter. I've come out of work with the temperature in the low teens and it fired up as if it were 70°. They're great batteries and do not discharge nearly so much as conventional lead-acid batteries in bikes that just sit around the garage. Also, they won't puke acid onto your bike like "flooded" batteries. Note that newer Harleys use similar technology to the Odyssey batteries (AGM) and have many of the same advantages.

When it's time for replacement on either my 2007 Road King or 2009 Ultra, I'll be looking at Odysseys.

i searched my *** off and finally found a p/n for an autocraft (Advance Auto Parts) dry cell. Picked it up for WELL under the odyssey cost (around 90 bucks). It's been fine so far. Left my key on accidentally for about 2.5 hours (when chasing electrical issues) and the bike started like a champ. no long term evaluation of this specific model, but my Honda made it 4 years with an AC AGM and is still in it 1.5 years after I sold it. I'd say almost 6 years is pretty good for a battery that was never on a charger or a tender.

Odyssey will cost about twice what you would pay for a Harley battery but its twice the battery. No recycled lead in them and when fully charged, they have a 2 year shelf life. Odyssey does recommend a different charger than most of us use because the level of charge a standard charger tapers to, isn't considered fully charged for a Odyssey. You can check it out on their web sight. I've used one for 4 years with no problems.
